Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my clipboard history stored?
All your data is stored locally on your Mac in a sandboxed container at ~/Library/Containers/app.pastebar/. It never leaves your device and is protected by macOS security features.
Does Pastebar save my passwords?
No. Pastebar automatically ignores items marked as sensitive by password managers like 1Password, Keychain, and others. Your passwords are never saved.
How do I clear my clipboard history?
Press ⌘⇧K anywhere, or open Pastebar and go to Settings → Clear History.
Can I change the keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Open Pastebar, go to Settings, and customize both the "Open Pastebar" and "Clear History" shortcuts to any combination you prefer.
How many items does Pastebar store?
Pastebar stores up to 500 items in your history. Pinned items don’t count toward this limit and are never automatically deleted.
Does Pastebar sync across devices?
No. Pastebar is designed to work entirely offline on a single Mac. This is a deliberate privacy choice—your clipboard data never leaves your device.
